The gas tank is one one side, built into the fender, above the left wheel, and the other side is the same, but no tank, just hollow with wires running to the PTO/ hour meter. A lot of mowers I know of have the tank in the middle of the rear wheels, under the seat. This thing holds 9 gallons.

Oct 31, 2014 It takes 10 to 15 minutes to put 2.5 gallons of gas in the tank. There is a baffle just below the throat and it restricts the flow of gas into the tank. I had assumed it was a federal law that made Simplicity build the tank this way but then I saw a new Toro mower that my neighbor purchased a couple of weeks ago. It did not have this baffle.

Apr 21, 2014 Probably because the push lawnmower wheels sank into the soft top soil. Since then I've wanted to level it out and make it a bit more pleasant to walk on and mow. My dad made a heavy-duty lawn roller out of an old water tank and filled that sucker up with concrete so it weighs about 2000lbs and makes a perfectly smooth (boccia ball quality).
